Abstract

The benefits of cloud computing technology is not in doubt, so also, the expression of fear by the prospective users of adopting the technology is visible, particularly on the challenges faced in the process of selecting the best cloud providers that meet their organizations’ requirements. The selection decision becomes more complicated in case of multiple service providers, multiple conflicting criteria and imprecise parameters. This paper proposes a hybrid risk assessment framework for the public cloud consumers based on cloud information security and service availability by taking into consideration the complexity and dynamism of the technology using the combined Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Fuzzy Logic approach to help the public cloud consumers to assess the associated risk of selecting particular cloud service provider(s).
