Static Checking of Runtime Errors on Telecommunication Billing Application

Abstract

Program analysis is an automatic process of analyzing behaviour of computer programs regarding properties such as correctness, robustness and safety. Meanwhile, increase in size and complexity of today’s software have made potential errors more difficult to manage. To enhance the efficiency of the telecom billing software against vulnerability, there is need to check the system for defects. Therefore, the aim of this work was to check the correctness of software for potential errors specifically in Telecom Billing Management Software. In this work, the authenticity of Telecom Billing System was simulated using PolySpace Static Code Analyzer. From the experiment, errors such as dead code, integer conversion overflow and error in logic were discovered. The mechanism considered performed well and have suitably met the objective of the research.
